The Festival will take place from 22-25 October 2015 and we're inviting you to spend an action packed weekend in the beautiful town of Harrogate, steeped in its own history. Join us for this fantastic opportunity to explore and grapple with leading literary minds on some of the most gripping conflicts, personalities and epic tales in human history. Harrogate International Festivals invites audiences to delve into the characters, intrigues and stories that stood the test of time to become the stuff of history books. Hosted in association with the Historical Writers Association, the 2014 Harrogate History Festival will feature some of the giants of the genre, with Special Guests including Tracy Borman, Lord Melvyn Bragg, Ken Follett, Michael Morpurgo, Kate Mosse, Neil Oliver and HRH Princess Michael of Kent as well as a range of panel themes to really get your teeth stuck into, including '600 Years of Beating The French', marking the anniversaries of victory at Agincourt and Waterloo, 'My Eras Better Than Yours', with period writers attempting to convince the Romans, Tudors, Vikings or Ancient Greeks are the best eras for time travellers to return to in a Tardis, 'Not Just Bullets and Bombs', a lively panel discussing the legacy of the Second World War, 'Bad King, Great Charter', exploring the truth behind the myths surrounding the Magna Carta and our annual debut writers panel 'New Blood'.
