Toll Gavel United Church Hall (behind the church), Toll Gavel, Beverley HU17 9AA 1.30pm ‘The Life and Death of the Hull and Leith Paddle Steamer “Pegasus” 1835 – 1843’ Speaker: Jane Bowen Jane was born and raised on Clydeside; took a degree in history at London University, and after teacher training worked in the Home Counties, Isle of Man and North Yorkshire, before joining the Scottish Schools' Inspectorate. She retired to Northumberland in 2002 and since then has been involved in local history research, publishing a book on the village workhouse where she then lived, before getting involved with the 'Pegasus'. She moved to East Yorkshire in 2019.

3.30pm ‘Researching the history of East Yorkshire- a personal journey’ Talk and Presentation Speaker: Dr David Neave David will deal with both memories of the EYLHS from more than 60 years ago and some of his own work on the social, landscape and architectural history of East Yorkshire. David joined the Society in August 1961 when he was a schoolboy in Lincoln with no direct link with East Yorkshire. Cost per person: £12 BOOKING ESSENTIAL **Own Transport
